Bolivar's Board of Aldermen voted to enter contract negotiations with a design-build team led by The Wirt-Flavin Construction Co. for the design and construction of an aquatic center in Bolivar, Mo. Revenue from the city's quarter-cent sales tax for parks and recreation that was approved by voters, will fund construction of the aquatic center that is planned to be built as an addition to the Roy Blunt YMCA of Bolivar. LexTran will use a $5.1 million federal grant to build at the site of its now-empty building at North Limestone and Loudon Avenue, located in Lexington, Ky., in what could be a big economic stimulus for the area. The local bus authority will use the grant, along with $2.1 million from an earlier grant, toward a $12 million project to consolidate its operations at one site and expand passenger service. More
