New Hampshire Memorial Bridge project bids to be opened early

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will open the price proposals from the design/build teams vying for the Memorial Bridge replacement project on Oct. 12, a week ahead of schedule. The DOT will have its review of the technical proposals completed and will be in position to announce the bids soon after, according to an email sent to the Portsmouth Herald recently. The original target date for the price openings was Oct. 20. More
North Carolina gets extension on deadline to award contract to build Monroe Connector-Bypass

As both sides wait for a federal judge to rule on the future of the $718 million Monroe Connector-Bypass, North Carolina has obtained a crucial extension for the contract to design and build the road. The state will not officially award the $368 million contract until after the ruling by U.S. District Court Judge James Dever III. Both the state and the environmental groups that had sued to stop the project had expected a ruling by the end of September. More
