The New Hampshire Department of Transportation recently said it chose a design-build team headed by Archer Western Contractors of Chicago to take on the Memorial Bridge replacement project. Although it was the highest bidder at $81.4 million, the team promised to complete the work by July 2013, nearly a full year ahead of the original schedule. More

By July 2016, eastbound motorists on Interstate 64/Highway 40 in St. Louis should be able to cross a new span of the Daniel Boone Bridge, while westbound traffic will travel across what is now the eastbound span. Construction of a new bridge to replace the aging and narrow westbound span, built in 1935, is expected to begin in the fall of 2012. The eastbound span, built in 1985, will remain intact. More

Recently, Seattle's Sound Transit held an open house for the Central Link extension to S. 200th Street. Not much new was announced at the meeting; the 30 percent design has been completed and the project is being readied to be put up for bid. Because this will be a design-build contract, the contractor will finish the remaining engineering for the station. More
