UC Davis chooses teams to compete for art museum design and construction in California
UC Davis    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A half century ago, a team of young artists, including Wayne Thiebaud and Robert Arneson, arrived at the University of California, Davis, to help build a new art department - and changed the art world. The university is honoring that legacy by tapping three innovative architect-contractor teams to compete in the creation of a design for the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art - a planned museum whose vision is as bold as Thiebaud's pop imagery or Arneson's irreverent ceramics. However, with a new legislative term, come new faces to the committees and agencies that affect design-build professionals. On the policy side, a significant portion of the lame duck session will be focused on an agreement to avoid automatic sequestration. More

Do you know about all your member benefits?
DBIA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
As a member, you're probably aware of the information we send out - this e-newsletter is one source and our journal, Integration Quarterly, another. One of these is access to epipeline - a source of information on upcoming government contracts. Contact Sean Campbell at epipeline, sean.campbell@epipeline.com for information on accessing this information.

Another benefit, if you’re an Industry Partner member contact, you can nominate one owner for a free one-year individual membership. They'll receive all the benefits of DBIA membership – it's a good way to encourage an owner who already appreciates the benefits of design-build or educate one who's still undecided. And, for owners you'd like to encourage or educate or provide a networking opportunity, DBIA conferences offer some owners a scholarship to help them defray the costs of attending one of the conferences we offer every year.
