Family hunting is bonding time
Dallas Morning News    Share   Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Here are two stories that emphasize multiple generations of family ties in hunting. Both involve a first buck. One of the deer was very big for where he was shot. The other deer wasn't that big, but neither was the hunter, an 8-year-old who used his grandfather's rifle to bag a birthday buck. Karaline Coats of Plano is 18-years-old and has grown up hunting with her father, Jeff Coats, but she has never shot a deer before. Hunting in the brush country of South Texas is one of the luxuries the Coats family gave up after the economic downturn. More

How to Prepare wild game meat
eHow.com    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Wild game is usually thought of as any creature killed in the wild for food. In the past, wild game was really the only way to get meat, but since the domestication of animals such as cattle, we can get meat from a wide variety of sources. Wild game has a unique flavor that sets it apart from meat of the farm raised variety. However if you prepare the meat wrong you might never experience the full flavor. More

Louisiana Game & Fish    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Tired of competing with thousands of other hunters on limited public land and rarely seen game? Want to hunt abundant species with long seasons, liberal bag limits and little pressure — sometimes no seasons or limits? Sportsmen don't need to fly to Canada or Africa for such action. While others chase whitetails, hunters who target largely ignored species can enjoy more days afield and bag more game close to home, frequently on public property largely devoid of competition.
