Global Golf Post    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Bubba Watson is just the latest former University of Georgia golfer to excel as a pro, and the list of Bulldogs on tour is quite extensive. Georgia features the largest cadre of active tour players to have lettered for the same university under the watchful eye of a single coach. Chris Haack, in his 16th season at Georgia, has won two national championships, and is arguably the most successful college coach since Mike Holder's dynasty at Oklahoma State. More

NCAA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A quick glance at the NCAA Division I Golf Championships records looks like a "who's who" of golf. But two names stand out among all the others and not just for what they’ve been able to accomplish on the Tour but also for what they accomplished during their collegiate careers. Ben Crenshaw of Texas and Phil Mickelson of Arizona State are the only golfers in the 114-year history of the collegiate golf championship to win three individual titles. More

Global Golf Post    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Though Europe eventually won the Sir Michael Bonallack Trophy at the Monte Rei Golf & Country Club by an emphatic 21 1/2-10 1/2, there was a period on the last afternoon when things were "just too exciting" for the liking of Andrew Morgan, the European captain. The final singles series should have presented few problems for the home side. But three hours into the 12 matches, the Asian-Pacific players were up in six and level in two. Not only that, but Morgan was in receipt of more bad news by the minute. More
