Mobile learning trends in developing economies

In 2012, the International Telecommunication Union published a report which stated that 90 percent of the world's population has access to cellular networks. Combined with over 6.5 billion mobile phone users, the ratio of phones-to-individuals is fast reaching 1:1, indicating that, despite often a lack of basic utilities like running water or access to electricity, many still have a mobile phone. In Europe and Central Asia, populations in the high income bracket see almost 1.5 mobile phones for every person; whereas, in Sub-Saharan Africa just over 50 percent of the population has a mobile phone. With such importance placed on this device, it's no wonder it is being highlighted as an excellent tool for increasing education and quality of life in developing nations.

Can a development plan reduce turnover?

HR should be a key leader in helping to get turnover under control. Often, a department with high turnover thinks turnover is a necessary evil, or "just the way it is." If they do not realize the cost of turnover, you should point out the real impacts of losing talent, including the costs of recruiting, the costs of training new hires, lost productivity while the position is vacant, inefficiencies while people are in training, the tarnished company reputation caused by turnover, as well as the stress on remaining workers who must fill the void while the position is vacant. These negative forces can make it more difficult to attract quality talent, and have a negative impact on company profitability.

EI is a quality that is being increasingly valued in organizations around the world. The reasons are not difficult to understand.
