The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), created to assist developing countries, has selected the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) to mentor health practitioners in Swaziland on the provision of post rape care for children and adolescents. More

Our nation's high school counselors may be ill-equipped to assist students struggling with physical, sexual, or emotional dating violence, according to a recent study in the Journal of Pediatrics. Calls to Dublin crisis helpline up 18 percent

The number of first-time callers to a national rape-crisis helpline increased by almost 20 percent last year compared with 2010, new figures indicate. The figures, contained in the annual report and statistics from the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre published recently, also show an increase in violence accompanying incidents of rape and sexual assault. Strong female portrayals counteract negative effects of violent media

Men and women are less likely to experience negative effects to sexual violent media when watching a positive portrayal of a strong female character, even when that character is a victim of sexual violence.
