Take IGDA's Developer Satisfaction Survey
IGDA
The IGDA exists to advance the careers and enhance the lives of game developers worldwide. To aid us in doing this and to better serve our members, information about who they are, what they do and how they feel about their industry is mission critical.

On Monday, 17 March, the IGDA — in partnership with M2 Research and the University of Western Ontario — launched an annual Developer Satisfaction Survey to update our knowledge of the current demographic composition of the video game industry, understand general quality of life and gauge developers’ overall satisfaction with the state of the game industry and where it’s going.

The results of this survey will be released by E3 (early June 2014) and will be used to assess the overall state of developers’ quality of life, diversity in the industry, and job satisfaction in order to inform the IGDA on areas of action. For 2014 only, the survey also includes additional questions that reflect our more in-depth Quality of Life survey which is conducted in 5 year intervals (2004, 2009, etc.).

To take the survey, visit http://bit.ly/IGDA-DSS2014.

Shannon Studstill is helping lead female charge in video game field
Los Angeles Times
As a child, Shannon Studstill sold gum to her classmates to finance her weekly trips to the video game arcade. That early investment in "Pac-Man" and "Defender" would pay huge dividends. Studstill, one of the most powerful women in the male-dominated world of video games, now runs Sony Santa Monica Studio, the development group responsible for the company's hit franchise "God of War" and the publisher of such critically acclaimed independent titles as "Journey."
