Will doctors soon be prescribing video games for mental health?
NPR
Developers of a new video game for your brain say theirs is more than just another get-smarter-quick scheme. Akili, a Northern California startup, insists on taking the game through a full battery of clinical trials so it can get approval from the Food and Drug Administration — a process that will take lots of money and several years. So why would a game designer go to all that trouble when there's already a robust market of consumers ready to buy games that claim to make you smarter and improve your memory?

The uncomfortable truth about TIME's virtual reality cover
The Washington Post
If you really want to anger a techie today, bring up TIME’s latest cover story on virtual reality. You would think technology enthusiasts would be happy to see virtual reality given a prime spot on the cover of one of America's most respected news magazines. But then you may see the cover, which features Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey in what could only be described as sort of a (very unflattering) flying squats. The photo is so awkward that it's spawned a whole slew of doctored pictures trying to explain that odd position, showing Luckey doing everything from riding dinosaurs to surfing.
