IGDA Perspectives Newsletter: December call for submissions
IGDA
The IGDA Perspectives Newsletter is looking for content for its December issue "Games About Games."

• Games as toolkits for designing games
• Games that reflect on game development (e.g. a card game about mechanics)
• Games that teach about game development or skills

We are looking for pieces generally 500 words. Please include a short third person bio and attach images separately.

Asia, where mobile games flowered, extends its reach

When SoftBank, the Japanese telecommunications provider, announced recently that it had agreed to buy a 51 percent stake in a Finnish mobile game company for $1.5 billion, many people in both industries reacted with disbelief. Suddenly Supercell, a three-year-old game developer in Helsinki with only 100 or so employees and two successful games, was worth $3 billion.
