Less than 1 week remains to apply for IGDA Scholarships to GDC. Scholarship applications are due 15 December 2015. Students can apply here.
Additionally, applicants who excel in the area of AI and who apply to attend GDC 2016 as an IGDA Scholar automatically qualify at a chance to receive the Eric Dybsand Memorial AI Scholarship. This is awarded to one student each year who shows an excellence in, significant interest in, and commitment to the field of artificial intelligence in their applications.
Eric Dybsand was a pillar of the development community, warm and welcoming to all and in his honor each year, AI developers gather during GDC. One student with an interest in AI is chosen to be the recipient of the Eric Dybsand Memorial AI Scholarship, receiving the welcome and attention that Eric freely gave to others.
The Dybsand Scholar receives all of the benefits of the core IGDA Scholarship program, studio tours, VIP opportunities, and so forth. In addition, they also receive:

December 7, 2015 (Toronto, ON) — 2015 winners for the Canadian Videogame Awards were announced yesterday in eighteen different categories. The winners were revealed at the annual event held Sunday evening at the Mattamy Centre in the heart of downtown Toronto.
Winners were announced from a list of more than 100 finalists, representing work developed in Canada and internationally. A body of industry experts from across the country voted on the winners in each category. Members of the general public voted online to determine the winners in the Fans’ Choice: Best Canadian-Made Game and Fans’ Choice: Best International Game categories.

The International Mobile Gaming Awards has just opened the floodgates and is inviting all talented developers to submit their games to their jury of industry experts. Submission is 100% free for developers and won't take you more than 3 clicks! Everyone is invited to submit a game: students, artists, leading publishers, Indies as well as big and small studios from all continents!
The IMGA jury will meet in January in France. They will play and look carefully at every game submitted during the judging sessions. That is a chance for you to show your art to influential journalists, publishers and industry experts.
Considered games must have been released in 2015, or be unpublished in a playable condition. The deadline for entries is 31 December 2015, and entrants have until then to submit their games on the official IMGA website.
