Call for IGLTA Honors nominations

The IGLTA Board has a longstanding tradition of recognizing members of the association for outstanding contributions to LGBT travel. These are individuals and businesses who help provide unique, creative and safe travel experiences for our community. We will present our IGLTA Honors at the 29th Annual Global Convention in Florianopolis, Brazil, 12-14 April, and we welcome feedback from our members! Please submit nominees and a description of why they are deserving (100 words or less) by 31 January for these categories: Innovator (created a campaign or business model that invigorated LGBT tourism); Community (a leader who made a difference in LGBT travel on a local level); Networking (an event that inspires LGBT business connections); Corporate Partner (a business that has proven to be a true ally of IGLTA); and Pioneer (groundbreaking work in LGBT travel, often philanthropic). IGLTA at the 14th annual LA Times Travel Show

The 14th annual Los Angeles Times Travel Show will feature a special segment on gay and lesbian travel as part of its 27 January travel trade day. IGLTA members Marc Kassouf and Nathan DePetris of Pride Travel will lead a discussion on how to capitalize on the lucrative LGBT market from 2-3 p.m. at the LA Convention Center. The show's travel trade day runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the $30 registration fee includes all sessions, lunch, and the industry reception. Travel agents may visit the show exhibitions for free on the consumer days (28-29 January) by registering as trade. IGLTA Board Member Ed Salvato will moderate the panel "What's New in Gay and Lesbian Travel" with journalists Duane Wells, Andy Bender and Sweet CEO Shannon Wentworth from 2:15-2:45 p.m., 28 January, during the consumer portion of the show.
