Open call for IGLTA Board nominations
IGLTA
IGLTA is seeking visionary, enthusiastic and dynamic leaders to join its board of directors. These individuals will work closely with other board members and staff to help IGLTA realize its mission, meet its goals and deliver on its priorities. Complete the application and then submit to nominations@iglta.org. The application deadline is 5 p.m. EST on 9 February.

IGLTA partners with World Travel Market Africa 2015

The International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) recently signed an agreement to become an association partner for World Travel Market Africa (WTM) 2015, a key business-to-business exhibition for Africa's leisure travel industry. WTM Africa will take place in Cape Town, South Africa from 15-17 April 2015, at the Cape Town International Convention Center.

Latin America's 1st lesbian surf camp planned for Brazil

The first ever lesbian surf camp in South American will get girls sharing their uniqueness in Santa Catarina, Brazil, between 9-16 May. Lesbian-owned tour operator Brazil Ecojourneys is inviting women to a week on their own. In this case, the real "l" surfers will travel to Praia do Rosa, a spot that is already frequented by the local LGBT community.

Russia gives green light for transgender drivers to stay on the road

Russian officials have given transgender citizens, many of whom have felt increasingly persecuted by the state in recent years, the green light to keep on driving after a new road safety decree sparked panic that they would be banned from the road. The decree, a legal amendment which includes a list of symptoms from the World Health Organization's international classification of diseases, lists trans sexuality among the medical conditions that could prevent a person from driving.

School for LGBT pupils planned for Manchester, England
The Guardian
The first school in Britain for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people could open its doors within the next three years. Based in the center of Manchester, the specialist state school plans to take 40 full-time students from across the area and will offer up to 20 part-time places for young people who want to continue attending a mainstream school.

Business travel rebounds into record territory

Buoyed by a strengthening economy, U.S. businesses spent a record amount on corporate travel in 2014 and are expected to spend even more this year, according to the latest forecast from the Global Business Travel Association. U.S. companies spent an estimated $292.2 billion last year on an increased number of business trips. And they are forecast to spend over $310 billion — 6.2 percent more — in 2015.
