Meet your ambassador: Shiho Ikeuchi, Western Japan
IGLTA
Shiho Ikeuchi, our new volunteer ambassador for Western Japan, is the Director of Overseas Marketing at the Hotel Granvia Kyoto, with more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and an extensive and diverse management background in hotel and restaurant operations, sales and marketing. Over the past few years, she has been aggressively involved in the development of LGBT tourism in Japan, and steadfastly works to increase the number of national IGLTA members. In coordination with her team at the Hotel Granvia Kyoto, she was instrumental in creating a same-sex wedding package in March 2014. At present, same-sex marriage is not legally recognized in Japan, and the Hotel Granvia Kyoto was the first hotel in Japan to officially announce the acceptance of LGBT weddings. Email her at westernjapan@iglta.org.

IGLTA
Please join us in supporting the worldwide outreach of LGBT tourism at our second annual IGLTA Foundation fund-raising reception, held on 8 April at the elegant Montage Beverly Hills in conjunction with our Annual Global Convention. Tickets are US$100, first-come, first-served as capacity is limited. Thanks to our hosts, Preferred Hotel Group and the Montage Beverly Hills, 100 percent of the proceeds from the event will support members in emerging destinations, global LGBT tourism research, and scholarships for future LGBT tourism professionals. If you're not able to attend, please consider making a donation to the Foundation at igltafoundation.org.

The fear of being gay in Russia
POLITICO
Moscow's first gay pride parade was held in May 2006, thirteen years after homosexuality was decriminalized in Russia.
