If you'd like to support the Annual Global Convention but cannot attend, there are still ways to be involved: On 7 May, the Hotel Ritz Madrid will host our first fundraising reception for the IGLTA Foundation in conjunction with the conference.     Mid-Cities, Texas, travel agency puts together trans cruise

    Travel agent Jeff Land blocked cabins on a Royal Caribbean sailing in December for what she believes is the first trans cruise. "This has been a dream of mine for so long," Land said, "because it feels safe being with other trans people." Land identifies as transgender and prefers female pronouns.

    Many gay business owners still face challenges, discrimination

    The fight for legalization of same-sex marriage has encouraged more gays to be open about their sexual orientation and has increased acceptance of them by others. Still, gay rights advocates note that 29 U.S. states don't prohibit workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Business owners are also vulnerable, they say.

    Gay kiss photographic exhibition cancelled after Vatican threat will be shown in NYC

    A photographic exhibition which was originally due to be shown in Rome, but which was cancelled after a legal threat from the Vatican has found a new life in NYC. An art gallery in Rome last year covered up the exhibition of photographs showing same-sex couples kissing in churches, following the legal threat by the Vatican.
