A seasoned veteran of business transformation initiatives, IGLTA Foundation Board Chair Tony Tenicela advises C-Suite executives on the role of diversity, human capital, and community relationships as strategic drivers to foster innovation and stimulate growth. The association recently entered into an Organizational Partnership with the Federacion Mexicana de Empresarios (FME) LGBT. The FME-LGBT is an organization that seeks to promote the economic growth of businesses and entrepreneurs throughout Mexico who identify themselves as part of the LGBT community. Nepal gay parade to enshrine LGBT rights in constitution

Gay right activists have taken part in a parade in Nepal's capital Kathmandu to press their demands for gay rights to be enshrined in the constitution. Hundreds turned up for the colorful rally — dancing in the streets. They are demanding same-sex marriage be guaranteed in the new constitution, gay couples' rights to adopt, buy joint property or inherit from one another.

ACLU wants Kentucky clerk in contempt of court over denying gay marriage licenses

The ACLU of Kentucky filed a motion in federal court asking a judge to hold county clerk Kim Davis in contempt of court for failing to comply with the Supreme Court and issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Kremlin shuts down Russia's only LGBT film festival

Less than two weeks before Russia's only LGBT film festival was set to begin, government officials have cancelled the program, reports ThinkProgress. Citing a "difficult economic situation," the Kremlin's "culture committee" rescinded funding from Moscow Premiere, a film festival that, for the past 12 years, has hosted free screenings of films addressing LGBT issues in Russia and abroad.

Spain embraces gay tourism despite conservative politics

Spain is winning the battle for gay tourists. Gay and lesbian visitors contribute about $6.8 billion to the Spanish economy, according to a report by LGBT Capital last month, edging out France as Europe's top destination. Gay people spend about 30 percent more on average than mainstream tourists in Spain, according to government estimates, boosting an economy where tourism accounts for 12 percent of jobs.

A rainbow sculpture that symbolized LGBT rights in Poland has been dismantled

A rainbow sculpture in Warsaw that served as a national symbol for the struggles of Poland’s LGBT community has been taken down, and it will not reappear in its current form, onet.pl, a local Polish-language news site, reports. The sculptor, Julita Wojcik, tells TIME that the piece was never intended as an LGBT symbol. However, since its installation in Savior Square in 2012, the sculpture has been razed six times by right-wing groups, who saw it as a provocative expression of gay rights in the staunchly Roman Catholic country.

Austin, Texas, catches Gay Softball World Series for 2016

About 5,000 more visitors are expected in Austin, Texas, next year when the Gay Softball World Series debuts. More than 2,000 players and coaches will face off on fields throughout Austin, but the attendees — from across the U.S. and Canada — are being booked mostly downtown at the JW Marriott, Hilton Hotel, Radisson and other hotels in that area, said Rick McLinden, executive director of the annual event that was held in Columbus, Ohio, last year.
