Meet your board member: Andy Mosetti
IGLTA
Born and raised in Zürich, Switzerland of Swiss and Italian descent, Andy Mosetti worked initially in banking before entering the travel industry more than 20 years ago. After having lead Worldspan, the computer reservation system of Delta, Northwest Airlines and TWA in Switzerland for almost 10 years as country manager, he founded NEXTSKY (Switzerland) Ltd., a Commercial Travel Agency and IT Consulting Company with which he joined IGLTA in 2010.

Olympic anti-discrimination clause introduced after Sochi gay rights row
The Guardian
After the controversy that surrounded Russia’s anti-gay laws before the Sochi 2014 Winter Games, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has introduced a specific anti-discrimination clause to its host city contract. In a letter to prospective bidders for the 2022 Winter Olympics informing them of changes to the contract, which acts as a binding agreement between the IOC and the winner, director of sport Christophe Dubi said the new clause would be based on principle 6 of the Olympic charter.

Kerry Kennedy: Enactment of anti-LGBT laws 'a global problem'

The president of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights told the Washington Blade the enactment of anti-LGBT laws is “a global problem” that is not confined to Africa. “It’s really important to recognize that this is not just an Africa problem,” said Kerry Kennedy during a telephone interview from New York. “It’s a problem wherever it happens in the world.”

Thousands of police protect pride march in Serbia

Thousands of anti-riot police officers were deployed Sunday in downtown Belgrade in an effort to protect a gay pride march that faced threats of attacks from extremists. Water cannons, armored vehicles and shielded officers blocked all traffic on the route of the march as Serbia tried to show it respects human rights of all of its citizens as it seeks European Union membership.

Vacation barometer boosts future hotel stays

Future business activity in U.S. hotels rose in August according to the latest reading of the Hotels' future business conditions (HIL) indicator. e−forecasting.com's HIL, a composite indicator that gauges future monthly overall business conditions in the U.S. hotel industry, increased by 0.7 percent in August to 118, following an increase of 0.3 percent in July. The index is set to equal 100 in 2005.

Foreign Office releases travel advice for gay holidaymakers booking honeymoons

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) is encouraging lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGB&T) couples to research and choose their overseas honeymoon destinations carefully. The introduction of the government's ' Know Before You Go' campaign comes after a survey conducted by OnePoll found that less than half (46 percent) of LGB&T people investigate whether an area is LGB&T-friendly when planning a honeymoon abroad.

'Wedding Capital of the World' readies for gay marriage

Nevada’s ban on same-sex marriage could soon be lifted, and some Las Vegas chapels are ready to open their doors to a possible influx of same-sex couples wanting to marry in the so-called “Wedding Capital of the World.” A panel of three judges on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently heard oral arguments on whether Nevada’s ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. The court panel is likely to make a decision this year, and if the panel overturns the ban, Gov. Brian Sandoval and the State of Nevada will not oppose the ruling.
