KSHSAA updates pre-participation physical exam
Kansas State High School Activities Association
The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) Executive Board voted to approve an updated KSHSAA PPE form recommended by the KSHSAA Sports Medicine Advisory Committee. The primary content of this updated KSHSAA form was developed jointly in 2010 by six medical societies (American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and American Osteopathic Academy for Sports Medicine). This pre-participation examination form was created to better standardize the screening process and more accurately identify medical conditions that may affect safe participation in sports among students.

The updated KSHSAA PPE is now available on the KSHSAA website with a revision date of January 2015. Please begin using this new version with your patients as they obtain physicals for the remainder of this school year and moving forward into 2015-2016. The most recent KSHSAA PPE form with a revision date of May 2014 may still be accepted by schools through the 2015-2016 school year.
