LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

2 weeks till turnaround
Dodie Wellshear, KAFP Government Relations Consultant
The Legislature is fast approaching the midpoint of the 2015 session, when most bills must be passed out of their first chamber in order to move forward this session. Certain committees are exempted and some bills may be "blessed" through these committees, but the bulk of bills must pass.

The pace of the session has picked up, with more bills being introduced to meet deadlines and with committees working feverishly to hold hearings and determine the fate of the legislative proposals before them. Committees will be working to get most bills passed from their committees this week and ready for debate by the full chambers before turnaround.
