KAFP's resolutions due May 5
KAFP
A great way to get involved is to write a resolution! Resolutions are the official means by which you as a member have input into the Academy's political process. It may sound daunting, but writing and submitting a resolution can be painless. Here’s how:
  1. Formulate your idea or subject for the resolution;
  2. Organize your thoughts on the subject;
  3. Begin writing the resolution using clear, concise language. The "whereas" and "therefore let it be resolved" clauses are not hard to write. "Whereas" clauses explain the problem or situation. "Resolved" clauses explain the action or solution you propose should happen.
Please submit your resolution for consideration by Monday, May 5, 2014. You may send by fax to 316-721-9044, by e-mail to kafp@kafponline.org or by U.S. mail.

$10,000 grant to practices that immunize
KHIN
KHIN has received a grant to pay a portion of the interface costs for Kansas physician practices that administer immunizations to Kansas patients. The funds will pay up to $10,000 of the interface cost charged by the practice's electronic health record (EHR) vendor. Funds are limited and must be expended by July 1, 2014. Please contact your KHIN project manager for more information or 877.520.5448.

Grant eligibility requirements:
  1. KHIN member
  2. Administer immunizations to patients
  3. Willingness to send immunizations to the state registry (WebIZ)
Sending immunizations to WebIZ is a MU1 and MU2 requirement. If your practice is trying to meet their meaningful use requirements, this might be a good option.
