2014 Fall Virtual SAM Session: Diabetes
Sunday, Sept. 21 | 5 p.m.
The Kansas Academy of Family Physicians in partnership with the Ohio chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians is excited to announce a virtual, American Board of Family Medicine endorsed Self-Assessment Module party centered on Diabetes for Sunday, Sept. 21, beginning at 5 p.m. Mark your calendar now and register to participate.
ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL OPEN JULY 21 and is limited to the first 20 KAFP members who register.
This innovative program will use a robust web-based system that will allow family physician learners from across the country the chance to complete a Maintenance of Certification for Family Physicians (MC-FP) SAM module while engaging their peers and an expert content leader from a location of their choosing. The KAFP registration cost for the virtual SAM is $150. ABFM fees still apply.
SAM modules consist of two parts: knowledge assessment and clinical simulation. The virtual SAM program will focus on the knowledge assessment portion of the module and allow learners to complete the clinical simulation separately within one calendar year of the virtual SAM. Once fully completed, the physician learner will receive 12 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits from the AAFP and recognition for having completed the required stage for MC-FP from the ABFM.
This cutting-edge program will bring the issues of diabetes directly into the physician’s home or office with guidance from a peer expert and the knowledge-sharing that occurs when completing a SAM with fellow family physicians.
If you have questions or would like to register, please contact KAFP at 316-721-9005 or at email@example.com.
