Culture: Why it's the hottest topic in business today
Forbes
Last year Merriam Webster's dictionary stated that "culture" was the most popular word of the year. Well, it has now become one of the most important words in corporate board rooms, and for good reason. We have a retention crisis. New Deloitte research shows that culture, engagement and employee retention are now the top talent challenges facing business leaders. More than half business leaders rate this issue "urgent" — up from only around 20 percent last year.

Are you experiencing career frustration?
By Hank Boyer
One of the most unexpected things about a career or job choice is that sooner or later you realize that you are experiencing some level of career frustration. Melinda Gates: Why hiring women is good for business
Fortune
Given that I spend most of my time working to empower women across the globe, I surprise myself when I remember that until 15 years ago I knew very little about women in developing countries. In college, I was aware of the famine in Ethiopia, and I bought the "We Are the World" album just like everybody else. But that was where my engagement ended. When I was running a division at Microsoft, I traveled to poor countries — but only for business meetings in office buildings downtown, far away from reality.

If women are so important in business, why aren't more of them at the top?
The Huffington Post
It's Women's History Month, and writing about women and work is in full flower. Faster than you can say 78 percent, we're reminded that having a woman in the room — boardroom, production room, executive suite — is better for businesses. No one seems to be disputing the data, which come from a variety of blue-ribbon sources. Businesses with the healthiest bottom lines win. So why are only 38 percent of managers women, and one in five corporate board members?

What everyone needs to know about running productive meetings
Harvard Business Review
Raise your hand if you think the majority of meetings are a complete waste of your time — not to mention your organization's time. You don't need to look far for confirming evidence. Consider the data on how one company's weekly executive committee meeting rippled through the organization in a profoundly disturbing way, ultimately taking up to 300,000 hours a year. We could all use some of that time back. But, what can we do about the seemingly endless cycle of meetings that we’re all caught up in?
