What the scarcity of women in business case studies really looks like
Harvard Business Review
"The school owed you better, and I promise it will be better," Harvard Business School Dean Nitin Nohria told an alumni audience, acknowledging and apologizing for the school's problematic past concerning gender equity. He then pledged to double the number of business case studies that feature a woman as the protagonist up to a level of 20 percent over the next five years. Dean Nohria's promise is noteworthy and important. But what exactly is the magnitude of the case study inequality problem across all business schools?

How 3 successful women stay grounded
Levo League via The Huffington Post
There's a movement underway focused on a new measure of success: your personal well being (thank you, Arianna Huffington). In this era of constant connectivity, it can be too easy to fall into the trap of more is more. The smartest leaders are finding ways to integrate daily moments of mindfulness and making career decisions that benefit their whole selves. Is the ultimate career goal now to live a fuller life? Here, Ellen Goodman, a Pulitzer Prize–winning columnist, Federica Marchionni, the president of Dolce & Gabbana, and Lucy Danziger, former editor-in-chief of Self Magazine and well-being lifestyle expert, weigh in and share what keeps them grounded.

In 25 years, will more women rise to the CEO seat?
While 332 of the 2,500 biggest publicly traded companies globally brought in a new executive officer, women filled just 10 of those positions, according to a new study from management consulting firm Strategy&, formerly Booz & Company. Despite droves of women entering higher education and the global work force, the number of women filling top executive roles hasn't budged for some time. In the past 10 years, 84 women have taken over the top role at the world's largest firms compared with 2,942 men, according to Strategy&.

Why so many men don't stand up for their female colleagues
The Atlantic
The percent of women in executive-officer positions at Fortune 500 companies has stagnated at less than 15. As more women "lean in" and we collectively continue to fight sexism, there’s another barrier to progress that hasn't been addressed: Many men who would like to see more women leaders are afraid to speak up about it.

Stop investing in women — and start investing around them
This year, the Goldman-World Bank Fund has committed $600M to capitalize women-owned SME's in developing economies. Between this and other recent efforts, "invest in women" has become the call to action dominating the conversation on women and girls. Directly expanding women's access to capital will gain ground in the battle for a more equal and profitable world, but taken literally, the strategy may prove to be blunt. Capital injection is not a panacea, especially in the context of international development.

Women partners still lag behind men in billing rates, management roles
