Mexican auto manufacturing boom raises new worries for US industry
    The Washington Post
Record output and billions in new investment in Mexico's auto industry are raising new worries about the long term future of vehicle manufacturing in the U.S. A new report says Mexican auto workers are increasingly able to match the skill and productivity of their U.S. counterparts, for a fraction of the wages. The boom is bringing worries to U.S. auto workers and unions about the long-term prospects of car manufacturing jobs in the United States, particularly after the $80 billion government bailout of GM and Chrysler.

Some apparel manufacturing 'reshoring' to USA
    USA Today
A small but growing number of clothing designers and retailers are bringing some production back to the U.S. The firms cite rising labor costs, poor quality and long lead times in China. In the past few years, major designers and retailers such as Brooks Bros. and Saks, as well as dozens of smaller companies, have moved some production from foreign countries to the U.S., creating perhaps 1,000 jobs. It's raising hopes that the trend will grow, even though garment production remains highly labor-intensive and U.S. manufacturers still face stiff competition from low-wage countries in Asia and elsewhere.

A good run, but manufacturing incentives lose steam in Oregon
    Portland Business Journal
