We've added 8 companies recently, will your company be the next?
Locator CIMS offers easy, secure access with a Web front-end and cutting edge technology and functionality. Since it is a web based application you can literally manage your entire customer and inventory base from anywhere. With a few clicks, you can choose a customer and specific machines to generate a custom email quote complete with photos and terms & conditions. The system will capture all the quote information for future reference or to re-quote later. Plus, you can do away with multiple data entries. Enter your machine information just once and it will populate your website and send advertising automatically to other sites such as LocatorOnline.com. The price is right! MDNA members get a substantial discount and you can even choose a 12-month payment plan option.
If you are still using an in-house application or older technology system and would like to migrate to a newer state of the art system simply call Jim Bowman at 703-683-5957 or email JBowman@locatoronline.com to register for this exciting event.

U.S. manufacturing is making a comeback, with more than 800,000 new jobs added since the sector turned the corner after the Great Recession in 2010. For the last four years in a row, global CEOs have named the United States the best place to make and invest, and new capital investment is flowing in to a broad range of manufacturing technologies.
If you listen to the wrong people, the North American manufacturing industry is doomed.
There is no denying that the U.S. and Canada have been losing jobs to offshore competition for almost half a century. From 2000 to 2010 alone, 5.6 million jobs disappeared. Interestingly, though, only 13 percent of those jobs were lost due to international trade.
The perception that manufacturing jobs are dirty, noisy, unskilled, and unstable exists among the parents, friends, teachers, and career counselors of America's students, with media reinforcing this common misconception. Capacity? Not the number one problem. Finding interested young people? That is the issue.
The Huffington Post
On Jan. 20, 2017 — after the speeches, parades, and parties end — the next president will sit down, start sifting through a seemingly endless trove of briefing binders, and begin making difficult decisions that will shape the future of the world.
Many of the next president's most consequential choices—on trade, technology, education, and other matters — will have serious implications for American manufacturing. While the unemployment rate and many of our economic fundamentals have improved markedly in recent years, the loss of at least 5 million manufacturing jobs over the past two decades has left a scar on the national psyche.

Only a generation ago, manufacturing facilities saw the first use of computers on the shop floor to control minor scheduling tasks. Today, computers are ubiquitous in manufacturing plants. They are found in robotics used to produce items, and they run complex machinery used daily in the manufacturing process. What enables a machine to work well by itself or as part of a work group of like machines is the phenomenon known as machine-to-machine communications, or M2M.
