New Blog Post: When a Globalized System Isn't Global
NACD has been getting a lot of questions from our members about how to comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's new Hazardous Communication Standard (HazCom) issued in 2012 to supposedly align with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. GHS is a United Nations-created system of standards that uses consistent criteria for classifying and labeling chemicals on a global level. However, OSHA's HCS 2012 conflicts with GHS requirements in many ways. This creates confusion for chemical distributors and causes U.S. requirements to be out of sync with the rest of the world. The system is not truly global.

A Good Executive Assistant Will Change Your Life
Now, before you start Googling "executive assistant," let me warn you that the definitions you'll find online will not be very exciting, writes Angie Herbers, founder and senior consultant Angie Herbers Inc. That's because most of the articles I found were about jobs that are essentially glorified secretarial positions, which I suspect is a commonly held view. I'm talking about a position with responsibilities that are much more than that.

At the Indeed Hiring Lab, we took a look at how each of these generations is searching for jobs today to get a better idea of the coming talent opportunities and challenges. In addition to examining the aggregate search data on what millennials, generation Xers and baby boomers are looking for, we also talked with employers to learn how they perceive candidates from different generations.
