On Saturday, March 1, Houston-area students in grades 5-8 will show off their knowledge of chemistry, lab safety and important scientific discoveries in their local You Be The Chemist Challenge®. Conducted with the generous support of Shell Chemical LP; Brenntag North America Inc., Bossco Industries, Raw Materials Corporation and Houston Chemical Company, the event is an exciting opportunity for students, parents and teachers to get excited about chemistry. Top finishers will move on to the Texas State Challenge in April, and one representative from the state will head to Philadelphia in June for the National You Be The Chemist Challenge®.

Save the date! 10th annual National You Be The Chemist Challenge® and Celebration Dinner
Mark your calendars for June 23 — CEF will be celebrating 10 years of science education, and we want to you join us! You'll be in for a treat, as 30 bright, motivated students compete in a high-stakes question-and-answer competition for college scholarships and other coveted prizes. After the competition concludes, all attendees are invited to a celebration dinner, to applaud students' efforts, demonstrate industry support for youth science education and of course, enjoy the festivities. The Challenge will be held once again at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.
