New Blog Post: Small Businesses Have a Big Impact
Earlier this year, the Small Business Administration declared that this week, May 4-8, is National Small Business Week. Every year since 1963, SBA takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small-business owners, and others from across the nation. Given that the average NACD member employs 26 people and generates $26 million in sales, this week offers a great opportunity to highlight the importance of small-and-medium enterprises in the broader economy and the need to ensure a fair tax code for these SMEs.

Near Miss Analysis: Debris in Roadway
Recently, NACD members have anonymously submitted near miss examples for the purpose of providing lessons learned for an improved industry. A near miss is an unplanned event that did not result in injury, illness, or damage — but had the potential to do so. One example of a near miss is driver injury. Click here to read how one member company handled debris falling into the roadway from a trailer. Be sure to view additional near miss examples and confidentially submit your own on the Responsible Distribution Resources page.
