Over 200 industry members, educators, and excited family members gathered at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, PA, on Monday, June 25, to cheer on 22 students from around the country in the 2012 National You Be The Chemist Challenge! After eight thrilling rounds of questions that covered important chemistry concepts, discoveries, and applications, Bhagirath Mehta, a 6th-grader from Iroquois Middle School in Des Plaines, Ill., emerged as winner! Michael Allen, of Toledo, Ohio, Yilin Yang of Livonia, Mich., and Tate Banks of Duncan, Okla., placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the competition. More
