    The U.S. Environmental Protection (EPA) is strengthening the federal underground storage tank (UST) requirements to improve prevention and detection of petroleum releases from USTs which are one of the leading sources of groundwater contamination. EPA’s action will strengthen existing requirements and help ensure all USTs in the United States meet the same release protection standards.

    Regulatory Compliance Preferred Provider Content — EPA Announces Plans to Modernize Audit Policy

    On June 10, 2015, and June 15, 2015, EPA held a webinar entitled "eDisclosure: EPA's Plan to Modernize the Implementation of the Audit Policy and the Small Business Compliance Policy." During the webinar, EPA set forth its plans to release in the fall 2015 a centralized online portal called eDisclosure to allow companies to submit self-disclosures electronically under EPA's Incentives for Self-Policing: Discovery, Disclosure, Correction and Prevention of Violations (Audit Policy) and Small Business Compliance Policy. EPA stated that it is developing eDisclosure in an effort to continue to promote the benefits of self-disclosures while also saving time and resources by modernizing and streamlining the disclosure procedure.

    House Passes Chemical Safety Reform Bill
    The Hill
    The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation on Tuesday to overhaul toxic chemical safety laws for the first time in decades. Passed on a 398-1 vote, the bill would require the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to review chemicals in products and issue risk management regulations in an expedited manner.

    Senate Approves Fast-Track, Sending Trade Bill to White House

    Last Wednesday, the Senate voted to approve trade promotion authority with a 60-38 vote. The administration now can turn to finishing negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a deal that would join the markets of 12 Pacific Rim nations accounting for 40% of the global economy.
