Attendees prepare to lead and act at the 2012 Annual Meeting

This week, NACD members have gathered in San Diego for the 2012 Annual Meeting. Attendees have enjoyed networking events and educational sessions, including an opening general session with former Republican presidential candidate and former governor of Minnesota, Tim Pawlenty. Pawlenty gave an engaging presentation on the state of businesses in the United States, as well as his thoughts on the 2012 presidential election.

A number of awards also were given out at this year's meeting. The 2012 Distributor of the Year Award was given to Andrew Skipp, NACD Chairman and President/CEO of Hubbard Hall Inc.; Tarr, LLC was also awarded the 2012 Responsible Distribution Excellence Award during the Wednesday morning general session. Stephen Cornwall, East Coast Sales director, ICL Performance Products LP, received the 2012 Supplier of the Year award at the supplier affiliate breakfast on Wednesday morning. During the Thursday morning business meeting, Doug Brown, president/CEO of Brown Chemical Co., Inc., was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations to all award winners!

    The Chemical Educational Foundation® would like to thank all NACD members and affiliates for showing their support of science education at NACD's Annual Meeting Golf Tournament at the La Costa Resort in San Diego.

    All donations received at the outing will go towards the funding of CEF's You Be The Chemist programs, which are designed to enhance K-8 science education by introducing students to chemistry's central role in all the sciences and in our everyday lives. The success and growth of the YBTC programs would not be possible without all of you!
