During the 2014 NACD Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, we asked members to complete our survey of legislative priorities to ensure the association continues to address the membership's pressing policy concerns. The issues that we provided members to rate in order of importance included TSCA Reform, CFATS Authorization, GSP Renewal, Rail Reform, Tax Reform, Cybersecurity Information Sharing, Highway Reauthorization, Health Care, Energy and Regulatory Overreach. A compilation of the responses to our survey revealed that regulatory overreach, tax reform, and health care compliance costs remain top priorities to NACD members, in addition to TSCA and CFATS.

Learning to Control Your Emotions to Become A Better Leader
    American Express OPEN Forum
When you get angry, it's easy to blow your cool and shoot from the hip instead of the head. In neuroscience parlance, this means you're in the throes of an amygdala hijack. The amygdala is the brain's center for emotional reactivity, and it constantly scans our environment, looking for threats. When it perceives a threat, in an instant, it hijacks the entire brain, getting you to act quickly even before thinking. You experience an intense emotional reaction; when the dust settles, you realize that it was inappropriate.
