Is right now a good time to start your own business?

Virtually everyone who works for a company has had the thought, Why am I doing this? If I ran this place, I'd sure do "X" differently. What's stopping everyone from becoming the CEO of their own business, anyway? The answer, of course, is risk. Starting your own business is a risky proposition. You invest your time and money without the guarantee of a paycheck at the end of the month. If you're in a secure job right now, or in between jobs, is now the best time to start your own business? The short reply… yes and no.

PayPal unveils tools for small businesses to sell global

Ebay Inc. payments unit is rolling out tools and data to help merchants find new markets and ways to sell their wares, be that in China, Japan, Argentina or elsewhere, said Anuj Nayar, PayPal's senior director of global initiatives. The features will be available through a new website, called PassPort, and will include information on foreign holidays that might drive more shopping, tips on shipping items and cultural customs.
