Former Walker, Ala., High School head football coach John Holladay issues apology after fight

Former Walker, Ala., High School head football coach John Holladay has broken his silence a week after he got into a fight with Cullman assistant coach Matt Hopper after the Cullman-Walker football game. Holladay resigned shortly afterwards, and then the AHSAA issued sanctions against both schools.

Griswell as MaxPreps/NFCA National HS Players of the Week
MaxPreps
An outstanding week's effort spanning games over Sept. 2-8 has earned Victoria Griswell of Glascock County in Gibson, Ga., the latest MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week award. Griswell led the Panthers from both the plate and in the circle over the past week as Glascock County H.S. ran its season-opening winning streak to 12 straight games. The senior pitcher/shortstop registered a .538 batting average (7-for-13) in addition to scoring five runs, registering three doubles and swiping eight bases.

USA 18U team defeats Japan, 3-2, to win gold medal

Three standout high school baseball seniors from Southern California will be returning home with a gold medal. The USA 18U baseball team won the IBAF World Cup in Taiwan, defeating Japan, 3-2, in the championship game. From defeating Cuba to rallying several times in the tournament, the USA team was able to pull out victory.

Maybe it's because pressing strength is slower to increase than the other big exercises like Rows, Squats and Deadlifts. Or maybe it's an expression of some sort of evolutionary gym trait. Use your injury as an opportunity

Stone, a contributor for San Francisco Examiner, writes: "Depression, anger and denial are all natural reactions to an injury, but in my experience, patients who have managed to move through these responses and are able to answer "motivated" are the ones who do the best. Injury is a short-term setback, but I'd urge anybody who is hurt to see it as a long-term opportunity."
