Bullying complaint filed after 91-0 high school football score in Texas
CBS News
There was little chance of defeat when two Texas high schools, Aledo's undefeated Bearcats and Fort Worth's Western Hills, faced off on the football field. The final score, 91-0, though, led one parent to file an official complaint of bullying against the entire coaching staff. Aledo ISD administrators say the complaint suggests the coaches should have told players to take it easy on the competition.

CNN
Nick Andre called his poem "Stupid." Officials at his Ohio high school called it hazing and harassment. Participation in high school sports on the rise in California
The Reedley Exponent
Participation in high school sports programs is at an all-time high throughout the state, the California Interscholastic Federation says. The trend is supported by the California Interscholastic Federation's 2013 sports participation survey, which showed a statewide increase of 0.08 percent compared to the 2012 survey. While that number is small, the impact seen on the local level is profound. Coaches for each of Parlier High School's fall sports programs said they have noticed an increase in the number of students participating in athletics.

Injuries explode as youths specialize in a single sport
San Francisco Chronicle via The Republic
At age 16, Blake Billinger had reconstructive surgery on his ulnar collateral ligament, better known in baseball circles as Tommy John surgery. Complete your nutrition with incomplete proteins
