In the wake of school shootings in Connecticut and the resulting renewed interest in gun control demand for weapons, particularly AR-15 style semi-automatic rifles and the ammunition they take, has skyrocketed to levels not seen in years. People have been crowding stores that carry the weapons since the shootings and businesses including Larry's Pistol & Pawn, Gander Mountain, and WalMart in Huntsville, Ala., were either sold out of the rifles or experiencing extremely short supply. While she isn't seeing the kind of high-end collectable that has become the staple of the History Channel show "Pawn Stars," Leslie McCoy says she is seeing an increase in the number of people coming into her Pocatello, Idaho, store, something she attributes to the show. "The pawn shows have drawn more attention to us, and people are now aware that pawnshops have more than just guns and ammo," said McCoy, pawn manager at Vickers Western Stores & Pawn Shop. Millions of counterfeit dollars are flooding cash registers, and more often than not, this "funny money" is being manufactured using everyday office equipment, federal authorities said. Heath Kellogg, a graphic artist known as "The Printer," his father and four other men were busted in November after authorities said the men produced more than a million dollars in counterfeit bills. EZCorp wraps up GoCash deal

EZCorp Inc. has finalized a $27 million transaction, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, indicating that its deal to buy GoCash LLC has been inked. The Austin, Texas-based pawnshop operator reported that 1.4 million shares of common stock were issued in connection with the acquisition of GoCash and certain affiliates. More
