How an unexpected trip to a pawnshop reunited a Korean War vet and his sword

Early last month, Chip Herrington was headed back to Alabama, where he lives, from Mississippi, where he happened to be working that day. As he drove, Herrington, an attorney, saw some antique and pawnshops along the roadway and decided to stop and take a look around. That's when Herrington spotted it — an old military sword, resting in a butter churn next to the bat and gun barrel at the Mississippi shop.

Mother, daughter killed in Florida rampage; 4 arrested

The crime spree started with an armed robbery at a pawnshop in Polk County, Florida. It ended roughly 15 miles away with a gun battle with deputies and the slayings of a woman and her adult daughter in their Haines City subdivision. Four suspects — including one who was wounded by officers' bullets — are in custody.
