For Rod Brandenburg, who learned in mid-October that his Longmont, Colorado, pawnshop was being kicked out of his Main Street location, that has meant more space and closer parking. … Brandenburg said he literally walked up and down Main Street, knocking on doors and asking property owners if they wanted to sell. They all either said no, or asked for more than Brandenburg was willing to spend.

Hardcore Pawn star offers $25,000 for football Seahawks' Jermaine Kearse threw into stands

The Seahawks fan who caught the football Jermaine Kearse launched into the stands after the win Sunday says he can't give it up, not even for Les Gold's $25,000 offer. Scott Shelton, who's headed to prison the day after the Super Bowl for unlawful possession of a firearm, told KIRO Radio's Dori Monson Show that he planned to return the ball to Kearse in exchange for a game-worn jersey and helmet autographed by the whole team.

Stolen Ginger Rogers pendant recovered at Oregon pawnshop

A stolen necklace that once belonged to actress Ginger Rogers has been recovered after a man pawned the Zodiac crab pendant surrounding a red ruby stone, Oregon's Jackson County Sheriff's Office said. The pendant, valued at $1,200 to $1,500, was reported stolen by a Jackson County man, the sheriff's office said.

New ordinance requires pawnshops in Kalispell, Montana, to submit records electronically

The City of Kalispell in Montana passed a new ordinance that requires every pawnshop to submit electronic inventory reports to the Kalispell Police Department. Police say the change will help them more easily track thieves and stolen items. The old ordinance required shops submit handwritten records every week. But, that rule was never enforced.

Detectives in Sacramento, California, looking for Navy vet whose ring was turned into pawnshop

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is asking for help in finding the owner of a ring believed to be owned by a Navy veteran. Deputies say the ring was turned in to a North Sacramento, California-area pawnshop recently. The pawnshop then contacted deputies about the distinctive ring.
