Small business owner questions why Justice Department would threaten his livelihood

A third-generation veteran says the government is choking him from his livelihood, blocking his access to bank accounts and forcing him to pay exorbitant fees for basic financial services. "I'm an American, and when the government does something like this to its own citizens, it has to be stopped," said Andy Kramer, owner of Discount Check Casher of Georgia.

Gold prices rise with silver as concern on Greek standoff mounts

Gold and silver futures rose for the first time in three sessions as a dispute between Greece's prime minister and international lenders escalated, boosting demand for the precious metals as a haven. Greece's bonds and stocks fell as Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras showed little sign of backing down in a standoff with creditors as he began three days of debates on his government’s policy plans. In January, gold rose 8 percent, partly on European economic concerns.

Oklahoma City police officer charged in pawn scheme

Oklahoma City police say a 14-year-veteran of the department has been charged with pawning various police equipment at a local pawnshop. Police Capt. Paco Balderrama says Sgt. Travis Smith was charged with 10 felony counts of making a false declaration to a pawnbroker.
