The Owner’s Rights Initiative says you should be permitted to resell something you’ve legitimately purchased, no matter where it was manufactured. While the court’s decision puts to rest one attack on resale rights, the group believes there could be other legal attacks in the future.

NCIS seizes stolen US military equipment from California pawnshop

An undercover investigation into a military item allegedly listed for sale online led to the recent seizure of that and other pieces of military equipment from a pawnshop in Temecula, Calif. Special agents with the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service tracked a medium range thermal biocular to the pawnshop after zooming in on a photograph of the item posted on Ebay.com, according to a copy of the search warrant obtained by Patch.

West Virginia bill would require pawnshops to check photo IDs
The Register-Herald
Thieves would find it a little harder to fence stolen items at West Virginia pawnshops in a House bill approved on March 22. The idea is to require a photo ID of anyone who brings in items to either hock or sell, along with records to be maintained by pawnbrokers, either on paper or electronically.
