Suspect indicted in 2009 pawnshop murder
Waxahachie Daily Light
Waxahachie resident Kajlon Jamaal Carroll, 23, was recently indicted by members of an Ellis County Grand Jury on the charge of capital murder. Carroll allegedly took the life of Dallas Pawn and Jewelry owner Phillip Tucker during a robbery that took place on Aug. 4, 2009. Waxahachie Police officers arrested Carroll on Jan. 21 with a warrant.

Effort to buy McKinley's wife's tiara from pawnshop puts Ohio museum on fundraising blitz

The McKinley Presidential Library and Museum in northeast Ohio is hurriedly fundraising in hopes of buying a tiara that once belonged to President William McKinley's wife. The owners of Ida McKinley's diamond-accented headpiece sold it to Gold & Silver Pawn, the Las Vegas pawnshop featured in the History Channel show "Pawn Stars," the Akron Beacon Journal reported. Shop co-owner Rick Harrison has offered to sell the piece to the Canton museum for $43,000, the amount he paid for it.

Owner: 6 shotguns taken from Longview, Texas, pawnshop, truck abandoned inside store

A pawnshop in Gregg County, Texas, is now a drive-thru after a truck crashed through the building. The Longview Police Department said officers responded to an incident at Cherokee Pawn Shop just after midnight. Police say a truck believed to be stolen drove into the pawnshop. Officers said the truck may have been taken by juveniles.
