Pawn company in New York refuses to give police info
New York Post
A New York City pawnbroker company is suing the New York Police Department in Brooklyn federal court for $61 million, claiming it's being bullied to reveal transactions in a national database. The Gem Pawnbrokers chain says cops harassed staffers at its Brooklyn and Queens shops, threatened them and even slapped them with penny-ante violations in an effort to get the shops to sign up for a service called LeadsOnline that enables law enforcement to track goods and the people who pawn them, a suit charges.

Gun Stories: Store owners find themselves on the front line of gun debate
KOPB-AM
Walking through the door of H&H Firearms and Tack in Bend, Ore., is like taking a trip through time. On the walls you'll find guns that long ago became synonymous with the old cowboys — names like Colt, Remington and Winchester. And everywhere you look is a nod to the Wild West — from the old rusty miner's lantern, to the life-size cardboard cutout of John Wayne. … Hamburger bristles at some of the proposals in Washington, D.C., to tighten gun regulations, especially those that would ban high capacity magazines. "It's not the rounds. It's no fault of the gun. It's no fault of the ammo. To be polite, it's the idiot that's using it."
