$1,000 reward for masked pawnshop robbers in Phoenix

On April 12 two masked assailants robbed a Phoenix pawnshop at gunpoint, and now Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for any tips that help lead to their apprehension. The armed robbery took place at the Cash America SuperPawn in Phoenix when two masked men entered the business wielding guns and wearing all black.

Jewelers opposed to pawn ordinance changes in Rochester, Minn.

A group of Rochester, Minn., jewelers and coin dealers is not happy about a proposed expansion of the city's pawn ordinance. The ordinance now applies only to pawn shops, of which there are two in town. But under the proposed change, which Rochester Police Sgt. Eric Strop recently presented to the city council, the ordinance also would apply to businesses that purchase jewelry and other valuable items from customers.

Pawnshops, Mohave County, Ariz., reach fee accord

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office and county pawnshops in Arizona have worked out an agreement that allows both sides to get what they want. The Board of Supervisors approved charging pawnshops 40 cents per ticket to help cover the cost of a new Internet pawn ticket tracking system for MCSO.
