Suspects in EZ Pawn robbery sought

Houston police are releasing new details about a robbery in Southwest Houston that could lead to arrests. The robbery happened on April 23 at an EZ Pawn shop. Police said the two robbers entered the business at about 11:45 a.m. One of the robbers walked inside the store while the other stood at the door as a lookout.

The last time Brian Page had to file the paperwork to evict a tenant from a rental property he and his wife own, he noticed all the check-cashing services and pawnshops on his drive home from the courthouse. A clerk tipped him off to what was going on: Every day, lots of people leave court with checks they’ve received in legal settlements. They often stop to cash their checks right away, paying a big fee for the privilege, and then go shopping with the money.

Sony forms joint venture in China for PlayStation
The New York Times
Sony will set up two joint ventures to make and market PlayStation consoles and games in China, the company’s Chinese partner said. One venture will be responsible for the PlayStation’s hardware, while the other will be focused on software, Sony’s partner in China, the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Group, said in a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange. A conglomerate, Shanghai Oriental Pearl has tourism, property, media and investment arms.
