Vince Dooley's stolen Auburn national championship ring found in pawnshop

Vince Dooley is a Georgia icon. But before he was a Bulldog, the Mobile, Alabama, native was an Auburn Tiger. Dooley helped coach Ralph "Shug" Jordan spark an Auburn football revival – one that drove the Tigers to an undefeated season and the 1957 Associated Press national championship. Dooley hadn't seen his Auburn championship ring since 2011, when it was stolen, along with 13 other rings, from his home in Athens, Georgia.

San Rafael, California, pawnshop closes after 57 years, leaving one less option for hard-pressed sellers

Alan Hyman, owner of the 57-year-old Pawn Advantage in San Rafael, California, sold his business to Robert Verhoeff, owner of Best Collateral. The latter company has eight stores in the Bay Area, including one in San Rafael, and has a forward-thinking business model, according to Marin Economic Forum head Robert Eyler. With Pawn Advantage shuttered in Marin, it appears that Best Collateral is essentially the last pawnshop in the county.

Guns, samurai sword stolen from Colorado pawnshop

Broomfield Police in Colorado are investigating a weapons burglary that happened at a pawnshop. Surveillance video from Broomfield Pawn shows four men prying the doors open around 2 a.m. on May 29. The video shows all four suspects entering the shop, breaking glass display cases and stealing jewelry, three handguns, a shotgun and a samurai sword.

    A 19-year-old man is facing grand theft charges after he was seen stuffing rifles down his pants at a pawnshop in Davie, Florida, according to court records.

    Stolen merchandise protected by Indiana state law

    When your property is stolen and sold to a pawnshop, Indiana law protects the pawnshop. The owner of Uphill Bikes in downtown Lafayette, Adam Hanabarger, says he wants the law to protect small businesses. A couple wrote Hanabarger a bad check for around $6,000 worth of merchandise. When he tracked down his stolen electric bikes at a local pawnshop, the pawnshop employees told him he was out of luck.

    Windows 10, with Cortana, Edge and Xbox gaming, is coming July 29

    The newest version of Microsoft Windows arrives July 29. Microsoft announced the launch date for Windows 10 on June 1. Upgrading to the major new edition of its operating system will be free for most consumers with a Windows 8 or Windows 7 machine. (Microsoft skipped a version 9.)
