Why pawnshops don't purchase stolen items
Gem Pawnbrokers
Pawnshops depend on their integrity to stay in business. They make their money buying and selling watches, jewelry, and gold. If they accept stolen goods into their inventory, they could be held responsible for it. Each day, pawnbrokers must submit a list of all merchandise they received with serial numbers to the police. If the authorities find items that were not reported, they can charge the shop. Learn more in this video.
