Tim McGraw's music career began in a pawnshop

To make a living doing what you love, sacrifices must be made. And luckily for us, Tim McGraw wasn't afraid to make those sacrifices. From the moment he first stepped onstage back in college, he knew music was what he wanted to spend the rest of his life doing. So he got right down to the business of making that happen, and it required letting go of something he held dear — his high school ring. "The first time I played in a club, my first year of college, I took my high school ring and pawned it and bought a guitar," McGraw recalled in a recent interview.

'Pawn Stars' — Hit TV show gets a South African version

South Africa is getting its own version of History Channel's hit television show, "Pawn Stars". Currently in production, Pawn Stars South Africa is slated to debut on Africa's leading Pay TV provider, MultiChoice Africa, on Oct. 14.

Georgia 'guns everywhere' bill takes effect

Georgia residents can now carry guns into bars, nightclubs, school classrooms, and certain government buildings that lack security personnel or devices – with a license to carry, of course. Patrons can thank the measure, effective July 1, that critics call the "guns everywhere" and "most extreme gun" bill.

Pair reports guns stolen then sells them to pawnshop

A Hammond, Louisiana, woman is under arrest, and authorities are searching for her accomplice after the two falsely reported a theft and then allegedly sold the stolen property to a pawn shop. Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards says his deputies arrested 34-year-old Casie Baker after she filed a fraudulent police report on June 3, stating that two guns: a .308 caliber bolt action rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun, had been stolen from her home.
