Cash America sells Mexico, Colorado stores to First Cash

Cash America International announced that it is leaving the Mexican market as it continues to refocus on its core pawn business in the United States. The Fort Worth, Texas-based company has sold 47 pawn lending locations in Mexico, plus five locations in Colorado, to Arlington-based First Cash Financial Services. The transaction was disclosed in separate releases from the two companies.

Chain of Colorado pawnshops changes hands

Cash America International Inc. has sold all five of its pawnshops in Colorado as part of a plan to exit non-strategic markets. The Fort Worth, Texas, company sold the locations to another Texas company, Arlington-based First Cash Financial Services Inc., which considers Colorado to be among its core markets.
