The battle of the pawnbrokers in Singapore

Hot on the heels of its two competitors, ValueMax Group has become the third pawnbroker to list in Singapore after Maxi-Cash and MoneyMax. Shares of ValueMax jumped around 17 percent in its trading debut on Oct. 30 from its IPO price of S$0.51 while the company said its offering of 138 million shares was around 6.3 times subscribed.
